#udlchat Oct. 6, 2021

Q1: Think about your favorite teacher and what qualities did they have?

Q2: Would you like to be a student in your own classroom and why?

Q3: How can we support teachers and others as UDL is implemented?

Q4: What will the practice of UDL look like in 5 years? 10 years?

Tonight's chat was interesting because it took me a while to reflect on my favorite teachers and why they were my favorite. It was insightful to see others' responses because it seems like the main response were teachers showed they cared. I like the things I do in my classroom and I support my students, but I wouldn't want to be on the online programs as much as they are. I don't feel like we do enough reading and enjoying a story as we do putting them on programs.

During this chat, I'm still getting familiar with Twitter so I liked a lot more tweets and started following more people. Some of them were people in my class, part of the Cast organization, or other educators that had good insight. There were a few people that also started following me which was unexpected but nice to expand my PLN. I did learn more information about UDL and there were promotions for conferences and other UDL events that I probably would not have heard of if I wasn't in the chat.

I would like to learn more about adding gifs, emojis, and more to my tweets. I see how some of the people add it and it makes it more fun. I am unsure if it is because I am using Tweet Deck on my computer so it is harder to add these features. I know on my phone it is easier because it has a button for it. As I get more comfortable with Twitter, I do find myself checking notifications and replying to more than before the graduate class.
